Inspired by the reaction to this picture, which we took as a joke several weeks ago...

I decided to actually try it. What's the worst that could happen? Well, I guess actually the worst that could happen would be that it would somehow make the dishwasher explode in such a way that it would open a causality, warping the very fabric of the spacetime continuum in my kitchen. But hey, I'm renting.
My lovely dishwasher. I put the egg in the top rack as shown above (no mug this time), set the dishwasher to "light wash" with heated drying on, turned it on and left the house.
When I came back the dishwasher was still there, so if there WAS some sort of spacetime continuum warpage it's been very anticlimactic. I opened it up and there was the egg, still intact.
Bad egg! Go to your room!
I shook it around and it felt solid, so I cracked it open.
It's not hardboiled but it's not raw, either. I'd call it softboiled if I knew what that actually entailed. I've never cooked them that way on purpose.
The yolk is really weird. It has a very gelatinlike texture.
It tastes ok, though.

Edit for clarification:
There was no soap in the dishwasher.
The egg is not raw. It's soft and jelly-like, and while it might not be cooked all the way through or in a conventional manner, it's certainly not a raw egg at this point.
However, I did not eat the entire egg, only the amount shown on the spork; I don't want to risk getting sick when I'm out of time off at work.
