In this thread, I'll show you how to make my famous gi-fucking-antic stuffed mushroom Swiss burgers. My girlfriend and I thought up this recipe a while back, and it worked awesome. I'm sure other people have made up recipes for stuffed burgers, but if so, fuck 'em. Here goes...
Ingredients:
3lbs ground beef
1 jar of sliced mushrooms (size of jar depends on how much you like mushrooms)
1 egg
1 onion
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Garlic powder (to taste)
Mustard powder (to taste)
1 8oz block of Swiss cheese
2tbsp A1 sauce
1/4c Worcestershire
1c bread crumbs
2tbs butter
Large Hamburger Buns
Step 1: Get your grill going. No pussy oven usage here.
Step 2: Get all of your ingredients ready...
Step 3: 'Chop Shit Up'
Chop up an onion...
Chop it up some more
Cut the Swiss into small slices
Step 4: Combine the ground beef, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, mustard powder, A1, Worcestershire, and bread crumbs. The nacho cheese looking stuff is optional, it's something called 'Zesty Burger Sauce' and is pretty much Thousand Island with pickle relish.
Time to get your hands dirty, squish it all together. If it doesn't hold its shape, or is too wet, add more bread crumbs.
Step 5: Flatten out a portion of the ground beef concoction, then cut it into patties with a cup (or just use your hands). NOTE: Two of these patties will make a whole burger.
Do this until you have no more meat left. If you have too little meat left to make another pair of patties, and have a dog, then you are required to make your dog a burger.
Grill is almost ready!
Step 6: Form the burgers
Take a patty and place Swiss and mushrooms on top of it. NOTE: Set some mushrooms and Swiss aside for the burger topping.
Place another patty on top
Seal the edges of the burger with your fingers, then roll the burger into a ball while keeping the insides, well, on the inside. This may take a little practice.
OMFG IT'S HUGE... Flatten the ball some to form a big ass patty.
Repeat this step until all of the smaller patties have been turned into MONSTER BURGERS. Note the small burger for our dog
Step 7: Preparing the topping
IT PUTS THE BUTTER IN THE PAN (ok, bad joke)
Add onions and mushrooms, then sautee over medium heat until onions are soft and clear.
Once the onions are ready, add some cheese to the mix
Step 8: Throw those monstas on the grill and let them cook for maybe 5-7 minutes on each side. Our grill was hella-hot, so we only left these on for about 5 minutes total.
End Result:
Damn near a pound of artery clogging goodness
Of course, the dog got her burger too.
