Taco dip of the Gods [56k no] by Gewehr 43 Visit Thread
G43's Kitchen Presents:

Taco Dip of the Gods

This is a pretty easy recipe that is amazingly tasty and can be use as either a main course or a side dish. Allow about 20-30 minutes for prep.

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
8oz cream cheese
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 Tsp chili powder (not pictured)
1 16oz bottle of Ortega taco sauce
1 package of your favorite taco seasoning
2-3 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, colby, or mexican blend are fine)
1 Bag of your favorite tortilla chips

...

Less talk, more cook...

First, start off by browning the ground beef.

While the beef is browning, you'll have plenty of time to whip up the next few ingredients. Combine the cream cheese, cottage cheese, chili powder, and 1/4 cup Ortega taco sauce in a bowl.

Turn this:

Into this:

Now, in a glass pan (we just used a pie pan because it was handy) spread the cream cheese mixture smoothly across the bottom of the pan. This will be microwaved later so for fuck's sake don't use a metal pan!

Set this aside.

By now the beef should be fully browned and ready to drain.

Now, over medium high heat, stir the taco seasoning and remaining taco sauce into the beef.

Until it looks like this:

After a few minutes the sauce will thicken up a bit. Once it does, layer it over the top of the cream cheese mixture like so:

Now, top it off with a (un)healthy layer of cheese...

...and stick it in the microwave until the cheese has melted. (~4 min)

Remove:

Grab your chips and enjoy.

Questions, comments, feedback are welcome and encouraged.

Edit: Well, this did have a "food" tag on it... the first time I did it. I had to do it again and of course I forgot to tag it.

Edit 2: Thanks for reminding me, allright. You can top this with your choice of stuff too. Onions, green onions, jalepenos, lettuce, etc.
